SUMMARY:Design Thinking–Driven Multi-Agent Method for Persona Generation
DESCRIPTION:Qing Ao, Suihuai Yu, Jianjie Chu, and Chaojie Fang (Northweste
rn Polytechnical University)\n\nPersonas are widely used in user-centered
design, yet conventional persona construction remains labor-intensive, dif
ficult to update, and weak in evidence traceability. This study proposes a
Design Thinking–driven multi-agent method for persona generation, organiz
ing the Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test stages into a close
d-loop workflow. Within this workflow, raw research materials are progress
ively transformed into structured evidence, requirement hypotheses, person
a drafts, visual concept prompts, and validation feedback, enabling iterat
ive refinement across stages. A prototype system was developed to implemen
t the method and preserve stage-wise artifacts, improving traceability, in
terpretability, and versioned iteration throughout the persona development
process. Initial application and evaluation results suggest that the prop
osed method can support scenario-grounded persona generation and early con
cept framing for human-centered design practice across collaborative desig
n settings, while future work should further examine broader design contex
ts and stronger downstream specification support.\n\n
