Darcie Hall is a PhD candidate and Master's student in Industrial and Organisational Psychology at the University of Western Australia (UWA). Her doctoral research examines teamwork in a simulated submarine control room, measuring it through communication patterns, questionnaires, situational awareness assessments, and objective performance metrics. Specifically, it investigates whether variance in team communication quality can predict overall team performance, with the goal of optimising automation/AI design to serve effectively as a team member in this high-stakes environment.
