Biography
Dr. Farzan Sasangohar is a Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Environmental and Occupational Health at Texas A&M University. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Houston Methodist Hospital and Adjunct Associate Professor of Population Health at Weill Cornel. He is the co-author of Design for Health: Applications of Human Factors in Healthcare and has published more than 80 peer-reviewed journal publications. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief for Human Factors in Healthcare. He has received several international research, teaching, and service awards including the Technical Innovations in IE and Hamed K. Eldin Outstanding Early Career IE in Academia Award from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE); Jack A. Kraft Innovator Award, William C. Howell Young Investigator Award, and Bentzi-Karsh Early-Career Service Award from HFES and Kingfar Young Researcher Award from the International Ergonomics Association (IEA). Dr. Sasangohar’s research interests include user-centered design and evaluation of remote and continuous monitoring tools for workers’ physical and mental health and performance in sociotechnical systems.
