Nancy Black, PhD. P.Eng. (APEGNB), CCPE is Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Full professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Université de Moncton where she started in 1994 in the Industrial Engineering sector. From 2008-2011 she was Responsible for the Industrial Engineering Orientations in the Faculté d’ingénierie for students in civil, electrical and mechanical programs. Nancy has contributed to scientific evaluations for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board and Québec’s Commission d’évaluation des projets de programmes (CEP) of the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire (BCI) and engineering program accreditation visits in Canada.
She has served the ergonomics and human factors community in several national and international roles: President - Atlantic region and President National of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists - l’Association canadienne d’ergonomie (ACE); co-chair of the Technical Programming Committee for the International Ergonomics Association (IEA)’s Triennial World Congress of June 2021 and from 2021-2024 is Chair of the IEA’s Science, Technology and Practice standing committee. She is also representative of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES, based in the USA) to the National Science Foundation’s Musculoskeletal Disorder Solution Laboratory Advisory Council.
