Biography
I am currently a Master's Student in Human Factors while simultaneously pursuing medical school, with the goal of entering the aerospace medicine domain.

I have not taken a traditional path to HF and medicine, earning my BS in ME from WSU with concentrations in thermofluids and robotics, and working on the engineering side of spaceflight through an internship with the Orion Program Office and on the flight ops side through an internship with the SPARTAN/MPO teams in the CI4 Branch. Additionally, working alongside Boeing and BSEL, my engineering capstone encompassed the development of an extremely low-temperature sustainable aviation fuel testing chamber to characterize O-ring swelling in extreme environments.

Human Factors is the perfect bridge between engineering and medicine; its versatility and intersectional application have enabled a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between these domains and their interconnected nature. With the HF perspective, methods, and analysis under my belt, I will be poised to bring the human into the forefront of my work: the difference between logical and effective outcomes.

Looking ahead, my goal remains clear; I want to return to spaceflight but in a different capacity. My goal is exploration and the advancement of human knowledge, achieved in the most straightforward way by expanding the human presence in space. To do this, we must have effective mitigation of physiological risk, for a truly maintained presence cannot begin without the ability not just to survive, but to thrive.
