Sylvain Bruni

Biography
Mr. Sylvain Bruni, Principal Engineer and Division Director, Performance Augmentation Systems, Aptima Inc. focuses on developing and deploying human-machine teaming systems and human-AI technologies for defense applications. Mr. Bruni supervises a portfolio of Systems for Interactive Discovery and Exploitation of Knowledge and Insights with Contextual Kinetics (Sidekick) cognitive assistants and provides expertise and leadership in human factors and cognitive systems engineering, design thinking, and human systems test and evaluation. He is a member of the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG) and a former study team lead (NIAG SG-278 study on Cognitive Augmentation for Military Applications - Emerging Tech). He is currently a member of the NATO Specialists Team MSG-HFM-240 (Taxonomy and Roadmap to Human Digital Twin as Operational Asset), leading the Standards subteam, and a member of the NATO Exploratory Team MSG-ET-058 (M&S approaches to support the development of Uncrewed or Autonomous Systems). Mr. Bruni holds an SM in aeronautics and astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Diplôme d'Ingénieur from CentraleSupélec (France). He is a trained SAFe Advanced Scrum Master and Product Owner, a certified CMMI v2 Associate, and a trained Human Readiness Levels practitioner. Mr. Bruni is an active member of HFES (where he holds the position of ASPIRE Program Chair), IEEE SMC, ACM, INCOSE, AAAI, AIAA, and the G45 Human Systems Integration (HSI) Standards Committee of SAE.
