Beyond the LMS: A Demonstration of an AI-Enabled Competency Platform for Healthcare Informatics
DescriptionLarge-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization requires informatics teams to apply Human-Systems Integration (HSI) principles in real time, yet traditional Learning Management System (LMS) training remains linear, compliance-driven, and disconnected from operational work. This demonstration presents an AI-enabled competency platform designed to bridge the gap between formal training and real-world performance.
Attendees will experience an end-to-end walkthrough of a cloud-based system that transforms static knowledge repositories into a dynamic, competency-aligned performance support ecosystem. The platform ingests approved materials (e.g., documents, videos), decomposes them into granular knowledge components, and maps them to an HSI competency framework. From this foundation, the system supports two complementary modes: structured microlearning for progressive skill development and on-demand job aid generation for immediate task execution.
Participants will interact with the platform as both learners and practitioners, observing how AI dynamically assembles context-specific guidance at the point of need. The demonstration highlights how this approach reduces cognitive burden, improves access to actionable knowledge, and supports consistent application of best practices during live operations.
While grounded in healthcare informatics, the architecture is applicable across high-risk, high-complexity domains requiring scalable, just-in-time performance support.
